Contradictions in Bible

A must-see debate between, Canadian Dr Shabir ALLY (born in Guyana) | Doctor of Philosophy | University of Toronto | President of the Islamic Information & Dawah Centre International of Toronto VS American Jay SMITH (born in India), Christian evangelist, PhD in apologetics and Polemics | Melbourne School of Theology.

Question; Why would God, who is so big and so forgiving and loving, not just forgive us all our sins and have to kill the person he loves the most in order to forgive us?

Jay Smith; It requires a death, it requires a sacrifice. It requires blood that has to be shed. He would take on that punishment on himself. It is something he chose for himself to do. Otherwise, everybody is lost. Because it does take a blood sacrifice for the wages of sin is death according to Romans 6:23. It’s because of that sin, that separates us from God, that God took it upon himself to rectify himself, otherwise we’re all dead.

Shabir Ally; Actually this idea was originated by Paul. He said the wages of sin is death. He made the cross the centre of his theology and that’s why he said, if Christ is not raised, then you are still in your sins. To him, God had to come and die for your sins. But it makes no sense because if God wants, he can forgive us. Nobody has to die for somebody to be forgiven. Because if somebody dies, there is no forgiveness, you know that means I just took my full price. But if God was loving and kind, he should be loving and kind to his son as well and save his son by some other means.

KJV 1 JOHN Chapter 5
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness because the Spirit is truth. 7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
RSV 1 JOHN Chapter 5
Who is it that overcomes the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 6 This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ, not with the water only but with the water and the blood. 7 And the Spirit is the witness because the Spirit is the truth. 8 There are three witnesses, the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree.
